Swimming!

The kids love going to the pool. I was taking pictures of them because they are completely gorgeous and of course Marissa loves to pose and of course Paulo likes to ruin it. I should have taken the picture of how mad she was at him after he squirted her in the face. In Paulie's defense, though, she was already wet, so...

Marissa's 9th birthday!

So it's kinda been a while since the last entry... I've been busy! The summer is going by so quick for us- we celebrated Marissa's 9th Birthday on the 4th of July. I can't believe she's 9!!!!
We went to Cici's Pizza (yummy) and to the movies to see Ice Age with Gramma and Bruce and came home to have an ice cream cake. We had a lot of fun and I love getting all dressed up and going out with the family. Gil was awesome enough to wear his fancy Tattoo Expo Shirt... Anyways I just really cannot believe my little baby girl is 9. We know we will soon be blessed with wonderful hormones and all that fun stuff. And we know once we have her birthday, that means summer is almost over... Oh well, what can you do.

Who plays fair in Laser Quest?

Sunday, Marissa and Paulo were invited to a birthday party at Laser Quest. This was our first time there and it was a bit more chaotic than I expected. The place was full of a lot of teenagers and our few little ones with this party. I was a bit concerned that it would not be fair to put them together because you could tell this was not a first time thing for these teens and I did not want my kids to be out numbered or intimidated by them. Luckily they did not put them with the teens, but with another party that were still a bit older and more advanced. I still kinda thought that was not fair because our group was younger and had never played. They did have a lot of fun, though. Marissa went twice, Paulo only once because he was concerned with my safety and didn't want me to be alone when they were in the Laser room. Yes, I was alone because Gil was not with me. He was in the laser room with all the children- shooting them. He won. What a surprise...

Is this weekend over, yet?

So this weekend is FINALLY over and we accomplished so much. We didn't get around to working on the yard or cleaning the garage or the front hall closet, yet, but we will- another weekend, when we're not busy... Maybe when the kids go to college! Anyways, Paulo had his first TBall game Saturday and was the cutest little boy on the field! He was a bit disappointed at first when he found out he had to play outside on a field like at practice as opposed to in a gym like basketball, but he got over that. He had a lot of fun and played great! I love seeing how serious he is when he's playing sports. It was about 150 degrees (I think) that afternoon, so I'm really glad it wasn't me out there! I got to sit in the stands on a wood bench that I found out later was NOT nice and cold, it was wet... They don't keep score in TBall with CYO until playoffs, but we won 5-4. Coach Gil got a little sun burned, but don't tell him because he already knows and doesn't think it is as funny as I do. He was very proud of Paulie for not blowing kisses to Grandma and me but apparently I'm not allowed to pinch Paulie's buns before he bats. I never saw that in the rule book and his baseball pants fit SO cute! We only have 9 more games until playoffs and everyone is in playoffs until they are eliminated so I think this might just go on forever...

It's Official!

It's official! The kids got into St. Matthew's! They took their tests and passed with flying colors. I just came back from the school with a big chuck missing from our checking account, but it will all be worth it!

OMG Am I really gonna blog???

Let's see how this goes. If anyone knows me, they know I am barely ever on the computer, but I truly have a beautiful family, including our friends and apparently this is how people keep in touch now... I guess it's worth a try, right?

Gil and I have been blessed in so many ways. We are lucky enough to say we have been together 10 absolutely amazing years! So much has happened in our lives, we've grown up together and plan to grow old together. We went from 2 carefree 20 year olds (one of us was 21, though) to a family.

Our gorgeous children are now 8 and 5. Marissa is rocking 3rd grade. Her brains make our lives so easy! She's the blessing that made Gil and me parents. I look at her and thank God for what he has given us. She came at a hard time in my life but instantly made everything OK. She has it all, she's smart and beautiful, but unfortunately she has her father's sense of humor. She wants to be a doctor or a scientist. She's got big dreams and thinks she's ready to grow up. She's going to break hearts someday, including her Daddy's, so we are holding on to her as tight as we can.

Paulo is getting ready for Kindergarten next year. He has finally decided it's OK to learn to read. God sure tricked us into thinking this parenting thing was easy when we only had Marissa, Paulo keeps us young. We have to always be on our toes! He's the one not afraid to jump off of ANYTHING! I know (as all mom's do, of course) that my son is a smart boy, but he is just unbelievable when it comes to sports. He recently finished his CYO basketball season and is now on to T-Ball. He has an awsome coach that made him believe in himself, but doesn't let him blow kisses to his Mommy during the games. Paulo takes life very lightly, he's carefree and loves to joke. He has big plans of playng basketball with the Spurs or being a Jedi Knight. I hope he never changes.

Gil is going on 9 years with the Sheriff's Department and has made me very proud to be his wife. He's a great husband and Daddy. He works so hard to give us everything we need and want. I have no idea how he does it, all I know is that he doesn't have to - but he would do anything for us; plus he has expensive taste and I'm not going to work extra so he can buy undershirts at The Gap. I love him and plan on keeping him forever.

I'm working at a dentist's office again and blah, blah, blah. I actually really love my job and have made some really great friends there.

So I end my first post, or whatever this is called with a quote from a great inspiration in my life:
"In my family and friends I have discovered treasure more valuable than gold."
